hey sorry i haven't been playing much. i have a job now so my free time has been reduced. i got a whole bunch of new games that i have been itching to try so my free time is taken by that and extra sleep. so i won't be able to play much often for a while.

Totally understand. My brother recently got a PS3 and Resident Evil 5, so we will be playing coop and Mercenaries mode for awhile.

Are there still lots of people playing on the servers? And how likely does it look like they'll get shutdown... I've been searching for a cheap copy to play co op with a friend but I've put off getting it for so long I dont' know if its' worth it now.

I haven't played for about a month. My brother picked up Resident Evil 5 so I have been playing a lot of that. That said, when I was playing LP2 last, there were plenty of active games. As far as the servers coming down? I'm not absolutely sure, but I think that the Lost Planet servers are still going.

Because Lost Planet 2 is most popular in Japan, the PS3 version will have a more active online community. There is a catch, however. For whatever reason, only the 360 version allows LAN play. When the servers go down, it will still be possible to coop 4 player through the entire game on the 360 via LAN or even Xlink Kai. Both versions support split-screen 2 player coop and if you have played RE5 you'll know what to expect.

You know, I forgot who, but while we were playing Lost Planet 2 in a group, someone mentioned Armored Core 5 and how that would have 8 player co-op or something. I'm actually pretty excited for AC5, so maybe that's something we should contemplate to play together?

Hmm... I kind of gave up on the AC series. I had fun with it up until 2... 3 wasn't very fun for me at all. A friend recently gave me Last Raven and I just couldn't get into it. I played a Demo for 4, but the magic was still gone. I think my biggest issue with the games now is that matches usually devolve into Virtual On style combat, but the control scheme is overly complicated in a way that tries to discourage you from playing that way. It's become a series rooted in two concepts at war with each other.

I say you should give AC4 a try again, but with a blank slate in mind. Don't think Virtual-On, and don't think AC3. I'm loving AC4 right now, bought it because I found it really cheap. The combat is so fast paced, and controls are actually more streamlined.

Might play some LP2 tonight. Kind of missing the SOCOM 4 beta... *sniff*
