LOL! That post made me laugh so hard. That happens to me all the time - occasionally I'll skim over some old posts of mine from months ago and think, "How could I have written something so stupid and unintelligent? People on here must think I'm a fucking asshat!" :D

Updates on this if anyone cares.

Capcom claims that AE will be the last of the SFIV iterations.

Amazon has the DLC dated for June 28th. Their early listings are usually always correct.

The most interesting bit of news to me is that there's an Arcade Edition port coming to PC.

As a prospective arcade operator, I can understand how current arcade operators are likely feeling screwed over by this. SSF4AE came out in Dec 16, 2010. News of the console port is coming out less than four months afterward.

That's gotta REALLY sting for those who have been struggling to get people into their arcades, paid the astronomical fee to get SSF4AE in their location, and are now finding out that they aren't even going to get the thing half-way paid off before the console version comes out and eliminates 99% of their users.

This combined with the lack of an arcade version of MvC3 would have me on edge to ever consider getting a new Capcom game. Compare this to Namco, who gave Tekken 6 two years of arcade exclusivity, and SNK, who has given KOFXIII one year of arcade exclusivity (and possibly more, as we still know nothing of a console port).

I'm sure Capcom would think harder about arcade exclusivity if it were actually bringing in cash for them.

I doubt the console release is going to inhibit big time SFIV players from going to the arcade to play the game very much, if at all. Playing in an arcade gives you that environment and feel that playing on a console simply can't, this is especially true for the "hardcore" players that are the ones that are actually supporting these arcade releases in the first place. 99% of the users aren't going to be eliminated.

Yeah, that 1% IS the top, big time SF4 players. The 99% are the casuals who make up most of Capcom's home console sales.

Capcom isn't making any cash on their arcade titles because they are prohibitively expensive. You can't make money if you can't make a sale.

I kept waiting and waiting on the "ultimate" edition of Street Fighter IV to come out... looks like it is finally on the way after many updates. Also really happy that there will be a retail disc version since I prefer that over DLC.
