Zelda is definitely not an RPG in my book, but SoM and Terranigma totally are to me. Especially Terranigma with the second half of the game practically becoming some kind of simulator with you running a bunch of quests if you want the world to expand (made me think of ActRaiser a bit). It's similar to Zelda in a lot of ways, but definitely has a lot more elements that make it an RPG to me.
An RPG is an RPG to me... I don't really try to break them down, though usually I'll draw the line between JRPG's and WRPG's since they're pretty different for the most part.
