E3 2011 Predictions

Well, it's almost that time of year again. A lot of announcements and rumors flying around.

Do you guys have any thoughts or predictions on this year's E3?

Here's what I'm thinking:

Nintendo:
- Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii) gameplay shown w/release date announced
- Kirby's Dreamland (Wii) gameplay shown w/release date
- New Super Mario Bros. 3DS game fully revealed w/pics or gameplay
- Announcement of more 3DS games from Nintendo and third parties
- ENDS WITH: Reveal of next home console with new Starfox announced as a launch title

Sony:
- Resistance 3 gameplay shown with PS Move
- More details on The Last Guardian with gameplay
- Announcement of a new Killzone game, possibly an MMOG
- More PS2 HD remakes announced, Killzone (KZ1) being one of them
- A lot of PSP2 game footage shown with some emphasis on added online features
- Mortal Kombat game for PSP2 announced
- Official retirement of PS2 but will reveal a new PS2 bc-feature for PS3/PSP2
- ENDS WITH: Grand Theft Auto V reveal with mention of exclusive PS3 content

Microsoft:
- Gears of War 3 demonstrated on stage with new details
- Forza Motorsport 4 demonstrated with emphasis on Kinect motion controls
- Price cut for Kinect announced that starts later that week
- New online applications and features shown for Xbox 360
- Radiant Silvergun HD release date announced with gameplay
- Next Call of Duty game revealed with holiday release date
- New Ninja Gaiden game revealed for release in 2012
- Rallisport Challenge 3 announced
- New add-on gun controller that can be used with Kinect announced (to compete with PS3 Sharp Shooter)
- ENDS WITH: A new Halo game revealed that can be played with Kinect and this gun add-on

Optimistic aren't we?

Of course, I'd be really happy to see a new Starfox, so here's hoping you're right about it.

For me, I don't have a whole lot to add to your list (more Ninja Gaiden is always great for me), other than my desperate need to get more information on Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, and the Sonic 20th anniversary game.

If we get those three things (and we probably will), anything else will be pure gravy.

Yup. I remember reading somewhere that the producer of the Starfox series had been approached to do a new Starfox game for the Wii but he didn't think that the hardware was adequate enough or something. And with Wii sales dropping dramatically since the holidays and no new big releases in the pipeline other than Zelda, it seems like the perfect time for a new console reveal. So if you put the 2 together you get a new Nintendo console with Starfox. Maybe even a new F-Zero or Kid Icarus game, too.. since a lot of people have been requesting those also

I can hope and dream for Half Life Episode 3.

I don't think they'll announce a new Wii at E3 2011 because this is the year of the 3DS. I do think they will show more new games for the console though.

Rockstar usually doesn't announce new games at E3. Usually it does a couple of months later, at their own event.
