That's kind of odd to me, because the game didn't allow me to get rid of anything that was important...

Ah, yes, I neglected to come in to the topic and mention that I'd started playing this game the other day (GBC version), but I just finished it moments ago.

I screwed up once near the end, forgot to get rid of one item (a stupidly obvious one) and wound up arrested. Once I went back and took care of that, I finished it.

Noise, my question is the same as pako's, what are you trying to get rid of? Also, some items can be disposed of by using another, specific item on them.

Presuming you're in the right place to do so (pakopakos hint above), you need to click the discard icon, then the object, THEN where you wish to discard it to (in the image of the nearby environment). Took me a while to figure out.

P.S Save beforehand! If you get rid of the wrong thing, you'll have to start again
I am doing that. I can discard most stuff, but not important stuff like
the gun, etc
. I am in the right place -- the deepest part of the sewer and I'm discarding into the little whirlpool. I have no idea what's wrong. I checked a FAQ, and I feel like I've done everything, albeit out of order. No clue how to finish the game now. I'm at the end, but if I
walk into the police station I get arrested.

Huh, weird. I had no trouble throwing out the gun. Perhaps you need to buy the other gun from the shop outside before you can throw that one away? What else are you trying to throw away that won't go?

Are you sure you have everything thats needed? perhaps the game stops you throwing the evidence out until you've got the proof.

Otherwise, I dunno, sounds like a glitch or something to me. I never encountered a problem with throwing things out at all.

I guess I'll re-read the FAQ again, but I swear I have all the proof now.
