SNES RPG'S?
SNES RPG'S?
So, can someone give me a list of some good ones? And also...since localization screwed some games labeling..can you let me know what the game is called here, and also what the game ACTUALLY is? For instance I have the psone FF remakes. But idk what the SNES ones are.

I'm sure there are forum posts as well. And where is "here"? As far as my own personal favorite RPGs go, I'd start first with Final Fantasy IV (US: Final Fantasy II), then Final Fantasy V (not released outside Japan but available through emulation) and VI (US: III). I' also a huge fan of Secret of Mana (Japan: Seiken Densetsu 2) and Illusion of Gaia, action RPGs rather than turn based. If you want to move away from fantasy stuff, E.V.O. is always fun. My favorite strategic RPG is by and far Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen.

Re: SNES RPG'S?
Final Fantasy II (is really FFIV)
Final Fantasy III (is really FFIV)
Chrono Trigger (I'm sure you already know this one, also on DS)
Breath of Fire 1& 2 (also on GBA)
Lufia & the Fortress of Doom
Lufia: Rise of the Sinistrals
Earthbound
Super Mario RPG
2nd rec for Ogre Battle (if you like Strat-RPGs)
and that's all the essentials, unless you want Action-RPGs. There's more of course, but none that I've been able to keep playing for long.
and then there's the wonderful world of Imports (and the translated roms that go with them)...

Robotrek is one you may have missed
Re: SNES RPG'S?
Terranigma only got a Europe/Japan release but is a must play.
Secret of Mana is one of my top favorites and I also think Secret of Evermore is awesome. I absolutely love the gameplay in these games, along with Seiken Densetsu 3's (Secret of Mana 2), for emulation you can check out SD3, Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, Tactics Ogre, and plenty more...
Also don't underestimate Super Mario RPG! Still one of my longtime favorites that I've played through dozens of times.

The RB guide should have you covered though.
Re: SNES RPG'S?
I wrote the Racketboy.com SNES RPG guide, but if that's not enough, and you really REALLY want to delve into the NTSC-U, NTSC-J, and PAL list of RPGs...well, here you go:

Re: SNES RPG'S?
Does anyone else like to distinguish between the RPG and Action-RPG genres? To me, they are COMPLETELY different types of games.
I think the likes of Zelda and Secret of Mana should be separate from the Final Fantasies and Dragon Quests.
It just irks me (though I'm probably the only one). But I think there are several people out there who would enjoy the one but not the other.
Anyone agree? Thoughts. opinions, words of despise-ment?
