Looking for a new TV Serie
Re: Looking for a new TV Serie
The West Wing has a ton of scenes where Martin Sheen just owns people. I'd recommend it.

Burn Notice is suckage, and while I thought Season 5 of Dexter was a throw away, Burn Notice doesn't even compare.ZereoX wrote:I hear Burn Notice had a Dexter feeling? Can you confirm?
I was pleasantly surprised by Downton Abbey on Netflix instant. http://www.itv.com/dramapremieres/downtonabbey/

I stayed with family last christmas, and got exposed to some unusual TV. One was a series from the 60s about matriarchial alien planet that was going to collide with the earth. One was a series from the 90s about an earth cop serving on a space station with aliens. And one was Burn Notice.
Of these, Burn Notice had by far the most preposterous premises and worst acting. But much higher production values and lots of skin.

It's actually much less preposterous than other shows of this nature as they try to explain every crazy thing the main characters do in every episode to create a semblance of realism. That's one of the show's charms, the main character's narration that usually explains most of the spy stuff he's doing.Hatta wrote:I stayed with family last christmas, and got exposed to some unusual TV. Worse acting? The actors have plenty of credentials. These are Sharon's Gless's credentials alone:
1985: Q Award for ‘Best Actress in a Quality Drama Series’ for Cagney & Lacey
1986: Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series' for Cagney & Lacey
1986: Golden Globe Award for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a TV-Series - Drama' for Cagney & Lacey
1986: Q Award for ‘Best Actress in a Quality Drama Series’ for Cagney & Lacey
1987: Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ for Cagney & Lacey
1987: Q Award for ‘Best Actress in a Quality Drama Series’ for Cagney & Lacey
1988: Q Award for ‘Best Actress in a Quality Drama Series’ for Cagney & Lacey
1991: Golden Globe Award for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a TV-Series - Drama' for The Trials of Rosie O'Neill; tied with Patricia Wettig for Thirtysomething
1995: Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (for television) at 7065 Hollywood Blvd.
2008: Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series’ for Nip/Tuck (Nominated)
2010: Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series’ for Burn Notice (Nominated)
The you have BRUCE...FUCKING...CAMPBELL.
And Jeffrey Donovan has done various theatre work as well as numerous tv appearances. Gabrielle Anwar has been in The Tudors
These people can act and the show features no more skin than one would expect from a show filmed in Miami

And for those of you who lost track of Burn Notice during season 4 like I did (and thus never turned on USA) the Sam Axe 'prequel' movie is on April 17th.
Re: Looking for a new TV Serie
I have to thank Rurouni_Fencer! I live in Canada and I can't get AMC thus I would have never heard of The Walking Dead. I just finished episode 6 and it's by far better than 90% of the shows I have watched so far. So thanks again.
Can't Wait for Season 2!!!
