Okay, I'm a big fan of the Tomb Raider series. I've been playing TR Anniversary off and on since I got it. I got stuck on the T-Rex which frustrated the heck out of me. Unlike the original, there is nowhere to hide he can't get you and you can't simply shoot, shoot, shoot until he's dead you have to use some ultra-specifically timed multi-button trick to do a special move 10 or 12 times to do him in. The source of my frustration is that for whatever reason I could NOT do the adrenaline rush move as required. I HATE special moves like this. I tried time and again, wasting numerous hours getting NOWHERE but to brutal bloody death.
I was very much enjoying the game up to this point and found it interesting to note how they've changed it from the original and how it's the same. But DAMN!, I just want to move on. Only once in my life have I used a cheat device and I decided it was time to do it again. I found the codes required for god mode, spent 15 minutes plugging them in my Action Replay Max and went in to play the game with the code activated. Of course the T-Rex killed me in about 8 seconds. Either the codes are crap or I entered them wrong.
Well, I figured I'm here I might as well try this stupid special move and see what I can accomplish. Well, what the f! it worked, and again, and again. I made a stupid move and got eaten. I started in again with renewed enthusiam and on my second meaningful try I killed the T-Rex without even using a health pack. The stupid special move was easy.
I've no idea why the special move worked and was so easy to pull off but at least I moved on and I didn't even need the cheat. I KNOW in my previous failed attempts I was doing everything right but the special move never materialized. I'd love to say it was a bug in the game but my button mashing was probably wrong or mistimed, but I'm amazed at how utterly simple and flawlessly the special move worked this time.
Have you ever struggled with a particular point in a game, came back to it much later and then breezed through the problem spot like it was nothing? This is great, but now I wonder what's wrong with my Action Replay Max!?
This makes no sense, but good news nonetheless
yes, about a month ago i got neogeo battle coliseum, tried to unlock the bosses thru survival mode with my usual characters, got to 21 then got killed. read up and ppl said to use haomaru with f+FP, i tried it last night, after a bit. i beat the mode with neo-dio and haomaru. what a weak unlockable.

I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.
Yeah I got killed by the T-Rex about 5 times until I got the hang of the slow-mo dodge shot. I got 3/4ths into TR:A and then just stopped playing. I got my fill of the game by that point.
This happens to me a lot lately. It's especially common when I have someone over and say "Man you have to see this fucking cheap boss. He's impossible." and then I wipe the floor with him. It happened a lot in Viewtiful Joe on the harder difficulties, and Shadow of the Colossus on hard. That damn colossus with the brick sword can literally insta-kill you if the sword strikes within 20 feet of where you stand. Then on the 6th try or so, I raped him effortlessly. My skill always seems to be enhanced when I stop caring if I win or lose, and when I just loosen up.Have you ever struggled with a particular point in a game, came back to it much later and then breezed through the problem spot like it was nothing?
I recall getting to the final boss on Decap Attack like a thousand times and never being able to beat him or even come close. It is a long game with no save feature so getting to the end is somewhat of an accomplishment of time if not skill. After the game sat unfinished for a couple of years I picked it up again to try again. I beat the boss pretty easily, I guess I finally noticed a pattern or something.
I probably have more unfinished games in which I got stuck at a particular point than games I've actually finished. I get pretty tired of doing the same things over and over, I wish I was younger and could tolerate the repetition like I used to.
I'm currently "playing" Seaman on the Dreamcast, what an odd little "game". I'm sure glad I haven't killed off the little critter yet because I doubt I'd go through the process of raising another one. It's been over a week and he just learned to talk. Not exactly the most interactive game I've ever played.
