Unleaded Logic posted a video in the game reviews section about his experience with the PowerPak. I think he said the only time it ever had problems was if it had a bajillion roms in it.trithodex wrote:Thanks! That is a very helpful thread.Croooow! wrote:

This thread has a great list of SFC games that don't require Japanese knowledge. There are some pricey ones but a lot of them are affordable.
Even though I am a collector and like owning the original carts, boxes, manuals, etc... I like the flash cart idea somebody had suggested. The PowerPak is a bit pricey but if its high quality it may be worth it....Not just for playing translated roms but for playing rarer games without having to disrupt their packaging as well.
Does anybody here have any experience with those? How is the gameplay/sound? Are there any alternative products out there? Sorry for asking so many questions, I just recently got into SNES/SFC collecting as I am taking a break with collecting genesis at the moment.

A flash cart will be as good as an original cart because you're still playing through original hardware.

This is very good to know. A flash cart would be much less expensive in the long run than buying English repros for every SFC game I own. Thank You to everyone who posted a reply, I will take all the advice or information I can get. This is really such a great community, glad to know there are others that enjoy classic gaming as much as I do (or even more in some cases!)MrPopo wrote:A flash cart will be as good as an original cart because you're still playing through original hardware.

One thing to keep in mind is certain games won't work on the flash cart, namely the ones that use an add on chip like the Super FX. If I recall right Tales of Phantasia has a special rip that'll work, since the chip is just used for decompression.

Here is an excellent Super Famicom flash cart. I want to buy one for myself sometime.
