Yeah, except for that part that Planned Parenthoods abortion practices are separate both physically and financially from the main wing of the organization. Federal money that goes to Planned Parenthood only funds first-line health care for impoverished women, sexual education, and birth control assistance.

The clinics that provide abortions? Those are privately funded. They are also located at different sites.

So no, this isn't about abortions. But that makes for a good sound bite. It's also effective since most people never bother to read up on stuff themselves.

The current budget issue that is creating this mess is in part due to an idealogical divide over a non-existent issue: Federal funding for abortions. Hence the point.
