Japan Quake/Tsunami
Re: Japan Quake/Tsunami
I think we all know you're a good guy, Ivo! Some of us do critisize things we disagree with, and I think it is good that we are free to do so.

It has been a few days and I'm a little concerned.... How are our Japan residents doing?

Wow, unreal. That statement reminded me Gibson's Idoru. While not nearly as extreme as depicted in that book, it is still kind of creepy.daito_kid wrote:I was in Tokyo when everything went down, and the town is darker now because of the power restrictions and black outs, and we can't use escalators here. Also, there were a bunch of commercials put on by the government at first, all of them were feel good commercials to fill space since there wasn't a single company that wanted to advertise on TV (rightfully so).
I really wish I could fly out there and help out some how. But I'm certain I would just get in the way. Please keep the information coming and take care.

yeah, ivo, i don't think you're being a dick or anything, i just think that our time and energy would be better spent offering unaltered support to our members living in japan rather than giving friendly advice. i do think you were trying to be helpful.Breetai wrote:I think we all know you're a good guy, Ivo! Dammit.... another VERY large quake just hit... near the same place as before. Not a normal aftershock. It is big. About 1 minute ago.

Be careful.
Re: Japan Quake/Tsunami
I'm not in Japan.
There is a tsunami warning, but not as large as March 11th. This was a very big aftershock, though.
