Re: Nintendo 3DS
Does anybody know how much bigger the 3DS is to the DS Lite? I ask cause I used to have a DS Lite, but then I traded it for a DSI XL. I still have the DS Lite case though (it's the DS Lite Mini Folio case made by Power A to be exact) and am hoping I could just use that case for a 3DS so I wouldn't need to buy another case.

As a left hander who owned a DS fat, I have no idea why people are complaining about stylus location. it seemed just as convenient as the DS lite stylus holder.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I saw a 3DS at gamestop today and I liked it a lot. The 3D effect for me had that magic quality of "How'd they do that?" Also, it didn't hurt my eyes at all. Then again, I played virtual boy for almost an hour and walked away unaffected, so I'm probably unique here. If they make some better games and maybe get the price down to $200 I might go for one.
The only thing I didn't like is that when I play fighting games (namely SF 4) I get a little excited and rotate the machine side to side, but the 3DS has a VERY low toleration for how far you can rotate it left and right before the 3D disappears. It would be like looking out the window of your house with all the scenery stretching out into the distance, then suddenly it rushes up at you like a freight train and pancakes into a flat image against the glass. It didn't make my head hurt but it was annoying.

Wow, people are actually debating that the playing DS games on the 3DS looks better then playing DS games on a DSi XL.

Oh dear. Judging on the average IQ of that forum I think I'd rather stick forks in my eyes than read past the first page.elmagicochrisg wrote:I see dumb people... they're everywhere.XxBroBuzzxX wrote:Wow, people are actually debating that playing DS games on the 3DS looks better then playing DS games on a DSi XL.![]()

They walk around like everyone else.
They don't even know that they're dumb.

Personally, I don't think the upscaling is that bad on the 3DS. It's not unplayable by any stretch of the imagination. I was playing Ghost Trick last night and I thought it looked perfectly acceptable. The animation was sharp, edges of objects were sharp. There was next to know blurriness. Compare that to Spirit Tracks or Dragon Quest IX, they look definitely worse. It just depends on the game.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Frys Electronics has one on display, so I gave it a go. Pilot Wings looked great, but the 3D didn't really jump at me as in a 3D TV. I can see the duel imagery when looked slightly from either side, a center view at a comfortable play distance gives the best view. I think because of the small screen size, a limitation of 3D popping out as in a 3D movie. The effect reminded me of 3D postcards, but in the 3DS screen, it does a pretty good job hiding the prisms and smoothes out the 3D transition pretty well. A nice system, little pricey but not bad of a 3d effect for a portable. I still prefer the small GBA SP, simply because it can fit in the front pocket.
