I always liked VIII, even though it had plot holes the size of Mars and an objectively broken battle system. I feel like it's become popular to hate on it alongside FFX, after the bashing of FFVII got old. I blame Spoony.
That said, things make more sense to me if I disregard the "We all lived in the same orphanage" BS. I'll accept that Squall, Seifer, Zell, and Ellone were there, but Selphie and Irvine are a stretch, especially with Irvine remembering the group but not saying anything because they didn't recognize him.

People hated FF8 plenty before spoony, just like people hated the Star Wars prequels before plinkett.

Yeah, that's the one part I still completely hate.AmishSamurai wrote:That said, things make more sense to me if I disregard the "We all lived in the same orphanage" BS. ... that part too. "Let's all use diaries guys!"brunoafh wrote:"The price we pay for using the GF...."
lol, yeah the game kind of slipped up around these parts for me.
I remember loving the absurd crazyness of the last bits of the game though. Heck yeah. Just gotta love when anime or Japanese games get so convoluted towards the end that it kind of works sometimes. Then you've got Xenogears/saga that are on an overdose of the crazy!

Yeah, actually the game in general would have worked soooo much better without Irvine.

Or Laguna should've just been the main character. Hell yeah.

Hehe. That said, I like Squall more than Cloud. I think they're very similar... but Squall actually seems to change and develop, lol.ZeroAX wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jho-peCAKsXeogred wrote:Or Laguna should've just been the main character. Hell yeah.![]()
