Just got a Sega Saturn kiosk like yours this week. Its in fairly good shape except missing the circuit board for the reset switch. It really makes playing classic Sega stuff so much better, its kind of the best possible setup. Mine wasn't free though
$150 with 15 CIB games and the system though, not bad.
I checked out you blog cool stuff. Your advice on arcade parties is really good. I've had 3 and only one of them was really a success. Too many times it ends up being 80% people who like the idea of arcade games and 20% who really want to play.
My Neo Geo 138-1, pinball, and R-Type made things way better. Like you say fighter can be great but not for everybody.

Wow looking great man! Nice blog too. What are the next few cabs you've been scoping out, or is it more whatever comes your way?

Your Sega kiosk has a Super Nintendo controller in it, lol.
That is one fine gameroom.

Alot of people think that when they come down there, but honestly I just find great deals on things. I know people who have dropped a grand on some of the same machines I have when I've maybe at most paid about 250 for one. If I were rich, I'd have candy cabs.miraland wrote:This is super cool. 150 for that kiosk is fantastic! It definately is a center piece for any game room. Isn't that thing heavy as hell? It took 3 of us to get that thing up in my game room and I really don't look forward to moving it down the basement eventually. The kiosk takes me back to my childhood days hanging out at Best Buy playing Panzer Dragoon 2.gradualmeltdown wrote:Just got a Sega Saturn kiosk like yours this week. Thanks for checking out the blog! Someone actually suggested I charge a cover fee for people when I have game nights because those casual players will be more inclined to play. I guess if you go to a Gameworks, you don't pay money to stand around; but the point of at home arcade is to be free and fun!
Thank you very much! My dream cabinet to pick up is a Astro City or any other type of Candy Cabinet. There so nice looking, but expensive and not easy to find. I've got my eye on a really nice CPS2 Marvel VS Capcom cabinet, but I'd most likely switch it out with one of the Street Fighter Alpha games. That may be on the back burner though, as I'm in the process of repairing my Donkey Kong JR cocktail. Killer Instinct is another one.chupon wrote:Wow looking great man! Nice blog too.
