Well, altered by his real life alter ego. But I'm interested in seeing what you guys think of this video from last year.

Thoughts? Opinions?

2 points and I am sure I sound like a dick.

1) It is really hard to hear what you are saying, it might bee due to the quality of the mic you are using, or just not being loud enough.

2) I turned it off the second it got 'hmm beefy goodness', just my personal taste but I find stuff like that really boring to watch, I feel like I am on the train listening to 7th graders talk about episodes that were on TV the night before.

I liked the review. Lots of great historical background info. And detailed game info. You did your homework.
That and I am a big Taito fan.
Never knew this title was that good. I had seen ads, but they put me off.
thanks.

I enjoyed the video due to the subject matter. Power Blade 1 is easily in my top 25 NES games list. While I'm not crazy about Guardian Legend, I share your passion for Power Blade. I hope you don't mind, but I'm writing a full written review of the game as well.

As for the video itself:

While there are a lot of trolls on the internets, they sometimes do have a point. I mean no offense when I say this, but many of your jokes in your video reviews are not funny at all.

Don't take that personally - humor is extremely difficult to successfully pull off in videogame reviews. You either have the talent for it or you don't.

I got a lot of criticism myself for some of my "jokes" in my video reviews as well. In the long run, those who called me out on it were right.

My advice is to always, always have a test audience of your scripted jokes before you go ahead and put them in a video. If your test audience doesn't like it, chances are the internet at large won't like it either. I have a high tolerance for this kind of thing, but many others don't. So yeah... don't add in jokes unless they're extremely well placed and a test audience likes said jokes.

It also helps to really examine your body of work. A few guys refused to even watch my F-Zero video review after I called it "epically awesome" about a minute in, and the more I thought of it the more I agreed that was a mistake to put in.
