Really? Never heard much about Xenogears. Just curious cause FF7 is my favorite RPG (typical I know)Xeogred wrote:Flip a coin, it's win-win for the most part!CDink wrote:Before FF7?Bradtemple87 wrote:Xenogears is STILL my favorite rpg, PLAY THAT SHIT![]()

Oops, my bad on that part, but I recalled you mentioned you were near the end of the game already. Someone just mentioned that at the end of Disc 1, you can go with the idea that Squall died from the Ice magic, and the story still makes good sense.CDink wrote:brunoafh wrote:Don't worry, he doesn't actually die in the course of the game (I'm assuming you thought you just got a major spoiler). That's just a(n interesting) theory about why the events of FF8 are so bizarre and nonsensical.CDink wrote: ........thanks...
Ahhhhh, Alright. I was a little miffed for a moment! haha.
Yeah the things I liked about Fallout 3 and New Vegas were the story, dialogue, characters, and the great atmosphere. The combat wasn't exactly stand out amazing or anything but I never found it bad and it kept me entertained.Xeogred wrote:Must be a fan of the older games.![]()
If that's the case... I'll play the devil's advocate and say, I'm not a big fan of the old Fallout's and I also hated 3, usually not a big fan of Bethesda games. I played 50 hours of New Vegas though, so ... I think it made the cut for me!
Fallout was great, but pretty flawed to me. If you're in it for the story and dialogue you might get more out of it, but I basically just got really bored of the combat after awhile. It's just basic point and click, turn based stuff, and your friendly AI is usually pretty terrible. If you're around tight corners they'll shoot you up a lot on accident. That said, the atmosphere, music, and all that are top notch. But yeah, the gameplay just got stale for me after awhile, but I'm not an expert on the games or anything. I got to the very end but couldn't finish it.
I wish the old Fallout games had combat like Jagged Alliance 2 or something, now that would be insane. Though I haven't played Fallout Tactics, I hear it's like the JA series... but not as good. Who knows.
Also that said, New Vegas wasn't perfect at all or anything either. It was fun while the novelty lasted though.
Well then you should definitely play the original Fallout games, because that's what they do best. If you can tolerate old school point and click PC games, you're sure to love them. I didn't really like Fallout 3 because it kind of pales in comparison to the originals both in the atmosphere it creates and in the writing.MrEco wrote:Yeah the things I liked about Fallout 3 and New Vegas were the story, dialogue, characters, and the great atmosphere.
