My Little Pony Discussion Thread

I've noticed that people (and I mean people who are not 5 and female) are suddenly fans of My Little Pony. What is with this? Since when do adults watch that show? I saw half an episode 5 years ago, and it was unbelievably lame. It boggles the mind that so many love this series now.

There's a new series now.

Creator of the new show was involved in Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, show's apparently better than it looks. It was made to be enjoyable for parents and whatnot as well, see, so it kinda caught on with a much wider audience. That's the gist of it really.

Haven't seen it myself, though.

Yeah, I never thought I'd see flash animation look this nice.

Still, the overbearing cutesy-ness of it I think would be hard for me to get past, so I think I'll probably pass on this.

I don't think I can watch anything 'girlier' than Powerpuff Girls honestly.

Perhaps I'm weird, but I honestly can enjoy overly girlie stuff more than I can enjoy overly manly stuff (although I love me some Fist of the North Star and Berserk, so maybe I'm talking out of my ass). I remember hearing some time ago that cute images stimulates the same part of the brain that is stimulated by mind-altering drugs, so maybe I get some sort of high from it.

Cant stand mainstream fads, never have.

I constantly have to explain to people how mainstream music is a complete letdown to musicians and murder to my ears.

No I mean I got that, I guess about it being the 'cool thing' to like old cartoons. Maybe I just haven't observed it myself yet.
