From a "Need help to ID a game" topic: Wait, do you mean biological crabs with rockets, or mecha crabs with rockets?
Back in the day my family really could only rent new consoles, never buy them. When the N64 came out I saved up every time to try and rent that out for the weekend, along with Super Mario 64. Needless to say I got really far in it, around half way through just by renting.

One Christmas I actually received a N64, along with Super Mario 64. I loaded it up right away and when I got to the file select my jaw dropped, it was my exact save file from the rental store. My parents actually bought the rental store's copy of the game, and even put it in a box that looked like new. They are awesome.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Yeah, but the man never goes a single day without being online in some form. He's been off the boards and AIM for a week, it's just odd to say the least.

Time to start the manhunt and canvas Houston.
He was online both april first and today, he just didn't post anything. Maybe he's sick, or just not in the mood.

It's already more than amazing how the man got +7000 posts in less than 2 years... :o

Maybe an acute case of Racketboy burnout. Cure: two weeks of fresh air...

Give it another week before you start your panicking... ;)
i txt him last night. the man himself is just having too much work this week. no worries.

Smile: I recently discovered that a hardcopy version of Amnesia -The Dark Descent- exists! The price was slightly higher at $20, but for an official disc and box art, I don't really mind. It looks good sitting next to my copy of the Penumbra Collection.

Image

Ticked: Unfortunately Amnesia doesn't support the integrated graphics card on my laptop. Damn you Intel!

I'm glad I saw this before purchasing the digital copy. Definitely worth the extra cost for a hard copy in my eyes. I consider Amnesia a pretty important addition to the horror game collection I'm starting to build up and I want to be able to display the game properly.

I've got a quick question for you Ack - I've read your (very enjoyable) article on Survival Horror and I've always been a fan of the genre so my knowledge there is fairly decent - but I was wondering if you know of any more obscure (or common too-plenty of common games out there I've never had the chance to try) horror games that really play with the fear of the unknown or let your imagination do a good chunk of the scaring in sort of the same vein as Amnesia or games that play with/break your expectations of reality - either in the way Eternal Darkness did or even within the confines of the game you're playing.

RIGHT?! I try to explain this to people all the time, but fuck it, maybe she will learn when she breaks down on the side of the road.
