Look, so as not to derail this thread any further please go read that old one. After reading all the comments there, if you have anything new to add please post your thoughts in that thread. Any more discussion on this point in this thread will be moved over there from here out.General_Norris wrote:A lot of people being wrong doesn't make it less wrongpepharytheworm wrote:But one point must be made even if it isn't an rpg or is enough people think it is that it should at least be mentioned in this list.

Hmm...I doubt Diablo III will come out this year. Considering Blizzard's track record for releasing games on time, I doubt we'll see it before 2013. Just about everything they've put out since Warcraft II has had a wait of several years beyond its original release date. Heck, Diablo II was something like 3 years behind its original release, and at this point we'll never see Starcraft: Ghost.
Oh, what about Magicka?

Where's that gif of Michael Jackson eating popcorn...?
You forgot Dragon Age II (already released) and Mass Effect 3 (scheduled for 2011).

I am proud that you weren't the one that made the "Zelda is not an RPG comment"
It crossed my mind.

Your guess as to my reasoning would be even more correct sir.ZeroAX wrote:um, no. The reason it's called an RPG by some people, is because Nintendo themselves call it an RPG. It simply is not. Though, as has been stated, this is not the correct thread for such discussions.
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

Re: 2011: The Year of the Action-RPG
I have no desire to argue the point, just an observation. I find it interesting that a lot of the pro-rpg people don't like the idea that maybe Zelda is just a game that has some rpg elements in it, which I wouldn't disagree with. It's just the insistance that it be called a full blown rpg that causes most of the arguments.MrEco wrote:Your guess as to my meaning would be correct sir.ZeroAX wrote:Zelda?MrEco wrote: and another one isn't an RPGYour guess as to my reasoning would be even more correct sir.ZeroAX wrote:um, no. It's a dead horse though, which is why I didn't even comment on it til now. Everyone can form their own opinion about it

Plus, I don't get why people would be offended. Not considering it an RPG doesn't change how I feel about the series (I have a love/hate relationship with the Zelda games)
