Well here I go again. I have mentioned this before and I had giving up on collecting video games. I haven't bought any retro games or system in a while. I just picked up a ps3 title and I'm just working on that game until mortal kombat comes out. I do have a original modded xbox with all the older consoles and games and coinops arcade and games like burnout 3 and soul calibur 2 built in.
Now this is where I need help. Two weeks ago I picked up an original xbox with 20 games for 50 bucks. I could not refuse the offer. The system and games are in great shape and four s controllers, games like halo 1 and 2 gta double pack, star wars battlefront, kotor, you get the hint. Since I owned the xbox already I just kept everything.
Now I am getting that feeling again. I have been at thrift stores trying to look at xbox games and I now have the chance to get a genesis with some games for a decent price. I miss the old school feeling of popping a actual cart into the system and grabbing a nes controller and playing mario or playing sonic or gunstar heroes on a genesis system.
I don't know what to do. I have been a collector and all my life on video games and I dont know if I should start up again. Has anyone ever felt this way? Should I pick up that genesis? Should I go back collecting? Any advice would help thanks
Might go back into collecting games again

Re: Help, advice,anyone?
Please be a bit more transparent with your thread titles. The worlds 'Help' or 'advice' etc aren't specific enough. We have absolutely no idea what the thread is about and the wall of text doesn't help either.

As for "helping" you, nobody here can help you. Your issue is entirely subjective and is something that YOU have to decide for yourself. What are your priorities? Do you have the time and money to spend on gaming? That is something YOU need to decide. If you're asking for answers here, you might have something else you need help with.

Re: Might go back into collecting games again
Remember why you quit in the first place. It's possible that it's not the best hobby for you if you are prone to spending too much money on it or get obsessive about collecting to the point of not enjoying your gaming. If that's a case, just try remind yourself of all the reasons you stopped once you get the urge to buy games and think of something else you could do to keep yourself entertained.
But, gaming is fun and collecting is fun. If you still have fun with it and it doesn't take you over, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Re: Might go back into collecting games again
I decided not to go back into the collecting scene. For me I could not afford it again. I have every retro console in my xbox already and if i need to i can just get my fix on the xbox. I really wish I had the space and time to collect I would love to have all my games back from the nes to the dreamcast. It would cost over 5,000 dollars to get everything back and for that money I could just get a down payment on a new car. For you collector's out there, make sure you have fun collecting because for most people once you get married and have kids, own a home, help kids with their homework, your job, working out, supper, you just dont have time anymore and it kind of sucks. I would love to be a kid and play sega all day but now i would rather play wiffleball with my kids. That's my favorite video game of all time to play. Playing with my two boys outside swinging or playing football or climbing trees. Now that's a video game
