Which of these PSP RGPs should I play next?
Which of these PSP RGPs should I play next?
I've been in the mood for RPGs lately and figured I should take advantage of the library on my new PSP. I've been looking into the library and can't make up my mind about which one I should play. I'm not looking for a tactical RPG (I'm playing FFTA now), I just want something nice and traditional. These all look good to me but I'm welcome to additional suggestions.

Got some interesting choices there.
For Sting studio, you may start from Rivera to Yggdara Union to Knights in the Nightmare, as to see their progress.
Ys I & II could be too bare-bone if you have played the later series first
I don't know either!

Maybe I should allow voting for more than one...

None of the above. Insert Etrian Odyssey into DS cartridge slot.
In all seriousness, Knights in the Nightmare is a very rewarding game if you're prepared to spend some time with it. It's also a gorgeous game (the DS version anyway).

I'm a big fan of Sting myself, so I guess I'm somewhat biased.
Plus if you decide on Yggdra you could technically start playing it tonight.

Skip Ys I & II and play Seven.
The premium edition is pretty awesome.

Four comments and not a single vote? Come on guys
. I've bumped up the voting to three choices.
Opa Opa, why should I play Seven over I & II? Classic Game Room's review of I made it look pretty good.

I&II is very basic compared to VII.Croooow! wrote: Opa Opa, why should I play Seven over I & II? Classic Game Room's review of I made it look pretty good.
All the premium edition PSP games are dreamy. Haha.
Ok, I'll vote 3 since 1 was too hard. EDIT: I voted for all 3 Sting games, because they're all so unique. I almost voted Lunar, but I'd personally recommend that on PS1.

Seven is more of a hack-n-slash dungeon crawler as opposed to I's more traditional gameplay. Ys I & II is fun but is a 3D remake. Not that that is a bad thing! I just prefer the graphical style of the old 2d games.
Seven is interesting in that you can have 3 party members with you and switch between them at any time. Every person is stronger against some monsters and virtually useless against others so you really have to learn the different enemy weaknesses and the best time to use certain characters.
It's a PSP exclusive right now and the Premium Edition is pretty affordable on amazon. I could go on and on all day but it's easier to just say "Go out and get the game."
By the way, there's no data install for the game but the load times are minimal. I almost think I'm playing a game on a cartridge sometimes!

Sounds good, would you say its better than YS: The Oath In Felghana?Opa Opa wrote:Seven is more of a hack-n-slash dungeon crawler as opposed to I's more traditional gameplay. Ys I & II is fun but is a 3D remake. Not that that is a bad thing! I just prefer the graphical style of the old 2d games.
