I have a love / hate relationship with today. Usually depending on how much the game companies play with my heart strings.

Let's post whatever April Fools shenanigans we find and see if we can't keep each other for falling for any BS today.

I'm guessing 1up.com's coverage of 'Halo Dance Central' is an April Fool.

Destructoid's would have been better if they didn't have some delay in the redirect to their 'hand drawn' site with 'April Fools' clearly in the URL.

God help us all if it isn't.

Game Over, the bad ass Austin based retro store we meet up at for the Central Texas get togethers did a cute April Fools joke.

I actually believed it for a couple of minutes.

Gaming Legend Nolan Bushnell to invest $100M in Austin,Texas-based Game Over Videogames

Austin, TX – April 1, 2011: Game Over Videogames, Inc., an Austin, TX-based chain of independent video game retail stores that specializes in the buying and selling of classic and used videogames, announced today a massive investment of $100 million from Atari founder and video game pioneer, Nolan Bushnell. The new entity, to be named “Game Over Entertainment”, will be refocused on a new retail/entertainment concept launching in at least 20 US cities by the end of 2011. Plans include over 100 locations in the continental US within 5 years.

Game Over Videogames founder and current President/CEO, David Kaelin, will remain with the company and assume the new title of Chief Operating Officer while Bushnell takes over as official company President/CEO of the new enterprise, “Game Over Entertainment, Inc.”. When asked for comments about this new company, Kaelin replied “Nolan and I met at a gaming convention last year, and we just really hit it off and got to talking about Game Over and different directions we could go with it in the future.” The two gaming gurus spent many hours discussing possibilities before ultimately agreeing to team up.

“It wasn’t something that either of us really planned or were looking for, it just all started coming together, and we both loved the idea, got along great, and things just kind of took off. Now, we are ready and in a great financial position to run with it!” says Kaelin.

As for the current Game Over Videogames stores, Kaelin says that all current locations will remain open, however, all future locations will be based on the newly developed “Game Over Entertainment” concept.

So just what is this amazing new concept going to look like? Well, the final design details are being kept top secret until the official launch later this year, however, Bushnell commented that “…the time is right to bring back the great combination of classic video games, cheap pizza, and fantastic animatronics shows! Plus, this time, we’ll be after a slightly older crowd than Chuck E Cheese’s, and we’ll feature a full bar in all locations.” Watch out, Dave and Busters and Chuck E Cheese – the original video game entertainment legend, Nolan Bushnell, is back in the game. Game on, Game Over!!

This is the day I don't read any news websites. April Fools Day needs to be abolished. I can't download my Japanese media because Tokyo Toshokan replaced their website with a April Fools joke. It's just stupid.

Boardgamegeek.com has been changed for "Geekdo" a Google clone that no matter what you look for only gives Monopoly results

If you look for "Catan" you get redirected to a video called "The Settler of Catan" where someone dressed as a superhero tries to trade a sheep, bricks and wood in New York.

If you look for "Twilight Struggle" the best rated game in the database based on the cold war between the EEUU and the URSS you get...Twilight, the movie.

Etc etc.
