One would think that the guy would get a functioning microphone after 31 episodes. That's what one would think.

Bayonetta is sexy because she wears glasses. I've never played the game, and I don't know what console the game is on. I'm just saying that if she didn't wear glasses, I wouldn't care. Yowza.

I like how the girl in Half Life is pretty and tough, but not particularly sexualized.

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Damn, I didn't know this overthinker guy was so hated! This was the first video I had seen by him. I don't know, I thought it was a pretty good analysis of how different female characters are meant to appeal to male gamers.

But with a deliberate omission of any and all examples contrary to his premise. That is intellectual dishonesty at its finest. Fuck that guy, his high-horse, and pedestal he's got his opinions on.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

It's because he's a pretentious dipshit.

This knock against games always resonates with me...

Can we just agree that, as a medium of entertainment and/or art, video games as a whole are currently and historically the least developed medium for representing race, class, gender, and other categories of social identity? Throw in the rampant racism/sexism/homophobia found in many online gaming experiences and you have an industry with a VERY long way to go...

This is a medium that trades in characters created from stereotypes, archetypes, and fantasies significantly more often than what is found in popular literature, film, popular music, etc. Sure, some of the same problems exist across those other media, and sure, there are exceptions to the rule, the future isn't fixed, and so on....but proportionately, when one looks at popular and critically acclaimed games vs. other forms of popular and critically acclaimed media, gaming ends up looking pretty bad on the race/class/gender front...

Indeed! Compare with cartoons from >50 years ago. Bugs Bunny in black face, Bugs Bunny in drag, Donald Duck as a Nazi, Daffy as a Jap, etc., etc.

That is probably the only video game female that I ever got around to honestly "caring about". I'm not sure what it is specifically but through Half-Life 2 and the 2 extra episodes a strong connection slowly builds. Valve just needs to finish the story :?
