PS1 Chubby Cases

Post by Kelekin »

I'm sure this discussion has been brought up in the past, but after 2 straight hours of fumbling around the internet, through ebay, amazon, google, and everywhere else I could think of - I have yet to find anywhere that offers ideal chubby ps1 cases, that would have the same thickness/spine as an original PS1 case. I've been looking for the 4 CD and 2 CD ones, which obviously have the same thickness. The problem is, any that even seem remotely okay, tend to have black trays instead of the clear trays needed to make a PS1 game look accurate.

Does anyone have -anywhere- they know of that has a good quality one?

Thanks!

You can just swap out clear trays from regular CD cases.

Fair enough. But otherwise, are there any that people would suggest ignoring that part?

I've found several in a nearby thrift store. Strangely enough, all of the one's I found were only holding a single disk. So I just asked if I could swap the single disk out and just get the case and they didn't have a problem with it. They were in pretty good shape too. Now when I go to that one store they always check to see if there's still a disk in there and if not...cheap case! :D

Now if you're just looking for single PS1/CD cases, I've seen large packages of the clear ones for less than $3 at Target and K-Mart. I've never seen anything bigger than that for sale though (And I have looked), so I know your frustration. You just might need to do a little physical searching. Now if only I could find an inexpensive multi-DVD 5 case that doesn't want to break
