I just finished Clock Tower 3 and am surprised how good the game is. Length of 6 hours was short enough to keep my attention and interest. The chasing by the enemies kept the game interesting. Characters were a little cheesy, but I thought well done (the enemies were designed pretty well). Story was not bad as well. Cut scenes were excellent and art direction was excellent as well.
Reminds me a lot of Eternal Darkness. I think I actually enjoyed this one more (probably cause it's shorter).
Who else played this?
Anyone else finished Clock Tower 3?

It must be a good 6-7 years since I last played this game, so my memory of it isn't the freshest. But one thing that I still clearly remember is the quality of the soundtrack. Back then that definately made an impression on me.

Yeah, I beat this one back around...2005 or so. It was the design of the enemies that attracted me the most to it, though there were times when I wasn't thrilled with the AI. I found the plot really cheesy too, especially at the end of the mallet murderer's section near the beginning of the game. Floating up that staircase...ugh.
Overall though, I liked it a lot, much more than the previous Clock Towers, which I find difficult due to the control scheme.

I played the first two games and never tried the third because I was sick of the controls. I guess I should have looked into the third after all to see that they were changed. I may have to keep my eye out for it now.Ack wrote:Yeah, I beat this one back around...2005 or so. Yeah, the music in the game mixed very well with the feel of the game. However, I really question if they were running out of budget for music at the end... near the end, there's some parts where the music is literally on a 6 second loop (2 bars of music...). To make it worst, I was stuck there for a while, making the music unbearable.Thierry Henry wrote:It must be a good 6-7 years since I last played this game, so my memory of it isn't the freshest. The first act music is pretty memorable, piano + survival horror, cliche but works well

Clocktower always managed to slip below my radar
Re: Anyone else finished Clock Tower 3?
You should, as it's a radical departure from the previous two in terms of control. It has far more in common with Haunting Ground, if you've played that (which was originally supposed to be a Clock Tower).Czernobog wrote:I played the first two games and never tried the third because I was sick of the controls. Played the hell out of Haunting Ground when I worked at Hollywood Video and could rent it for free (always meant to eventually pick it up but still haven't), so if Clock Tower 3 is similar to that then I'll probably enjoy it quite a bit.Ack wrote:You should, as it's a radical departure from the previous two in terms of control.
