The games I buy most often are Shoot 'em ups and RPGs. I also go for the occasional platformer, like Super Meat Boy. For about a year or so, I've been on a Tactical RPG kick, finishing Just Breed, Warsong, Langrisser II, Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo, and I'm almost done with Fire Emblem (GBA). I like that I can take it one battle at a time, then easily pick up at a later date from where I left off. Seems like I never have a big enough block of time to get immersed in regular RPGs.
I run the 8/16-bit retro site TimeWarpGamer and if you want to follow the latest updates, check me out on Twitter.

Used to love RPGs, but now I just don't have time for them. Always preferred Tactical RPGs over the rest, but I don't even have time for those anymore.

One thing that has never changed is my love for fighting games.

Also, because I don't have as much time as I used to, I like games that allow for quick, arcade-y action. This can cover just about anything from Shatter to Left4Dead.

I will play any genre but my favorite is RPG. Action, turn based, strategy (FF Tactics/ Shining Force III style) or MMO. I love them all.
