Re: Nintendo 3DS
hooray for US launch day! Was there a reason that the Us got it a day later than europe? that seems odd.

Look at the history of gaming, and how much Europe has gotten screwed over. I don't mind if they get this early.
Any racketeers stood in the dark getting one of these bad boys at midnight?

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I was the first one in the store to get the 3DS, and I have been playing a lot of Street Fighter IV since I got home.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Just picked mine up with Street Fighter.
This is really an amazing little toy. It is very hard to describe (as I just realized, trying to explain it to my girl friend on the phone a minute ago) but it's like you're looking into a moving, living doll house with tangible depth between overlapping items on the screen.
The operating system is impressing me almost as much as the 3D graphics. It really is a stream lined experience. They took everything I liked about the Wii's interface and slapped it into the palm of my hands.
My only complaints so far are that I would like to have had the 3DS online store ready on launch day. May isn't far away but it does feel like a noticeable omission on the menu. Also, there are two little plastic bumps on the bottom of the system, presumably to help it lay in its charge cradle at the correct height. That's good and all but that's also right where I put my pinkies when I play.
While I know that, ultimately, it is software and not hardware that will make a system thrive or die, I have to wonder what Sony's new PSP is going to bring to the table to compete with this hardware.

I was at my local Kmart a little while ago for something else and stopped by the games department. They had plenty of units, about 10 in the display cabinet and more in the back room. The clerk thought they would have sold out by now but the demand doesn't seem to be there.
Re: Nintendo 3DS
That could be but at my local gamestop, I picked up the last one of the cosmo black color they had in stock - there was actually a guy arguing with the manager to get my unit that I had pre-ordered.gtmtnbiker wrote:I was at my local Kmart a little while ago for something else and stopped by the games department. I think that either people do not think of Kmart as the place to pick up their gaming hardware (and who the fuck would, right?) or Nintendo figured out their supply issues to avoid what happened during the Nintendo DS and Wii launch.

Thats always satisfying picking up a pre-order that another angry person wants right in front of themFlake wrote:That could be but at my local gamestop, I picked up the last one of the cosmo black color they had in stock - there was actually a guy arguing with the manager to get my unit that I had pre-ordered.gtmtnbiker wrote:I was at my local Kmart a little while ago for something else and stopped by the games department.
