Maybe this just isn't the right forum for this but in the 2 plus years I've been here there has been very little discussion about pinball. I'm talkin real pins here. I'd argue that pinballs were just as important as stand up cabs in arcades. Sure they had their own cult following but if I ever saw an Adams Family, Star Trek TNG, or Twighlight Zone pin I'd run to them.
Now that I'm older I started to look into prices and wouldn't you know it the above listed pins are still considered some of the best commanding prices of 3K plus! Guess it'll be a little longer before I make that jump.
So anyone here got any pins? What are some of your favorites or ones you remember growing up with?
As a kid I did not like pinball. At all. I preferred the big arcade games at the time like X-Men, Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, or Street Fighter.
But since coming to Racketboy meet ups in Austin, I have discovered an affinity for pinball at last.
Recently, I have loved Star Ship Troopers, Street Fighter II, and (even though it robs me blind) the Star Trek: The Motion Picture machine at Pinballz in North Austin.
I have also been playing the Gottlieb collection on PS2 that S1mplehumar sold me on the cheap. That game has one game that has me totally transfixed: Genie. I love everything about it - the game within a game, the lack of cheaply lost balls, and the distinctive artwork. I had added this machine to my short list of arcade hardware I would like to own one day.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
The pinball scene is often separate from videogamers oddly enough.
My all time favorite has to be Arabian Nights
but I go back to Taxi time and time again.
There is a place near me that does freeplay for over 60 machines. CP Pinball
I'm stupid good at Funhouse but i don't really like the game.
Mars Attacks is a blast
I got the chance to play Starship Troopers but I had a hard time adjusting to the extra flipper! Really cool game once you get the hang of it.

I was just in the Detroit airport and almost missed a flight playing the Pirates of the Caribbean pinball. Thing got about $3.50 from me. Loved every minute of it.
I'm quite lucky in that there's lots of pinball machines in my town. My friend's pub has a The Addam's Family pinball machine, although the LED screen is fucked on it at the moment. It's still playable but there's stuck LEDs, needs a factory reset. A bar in town has a Stern Indiana Jones pinball (the new one with all the films in it as features). The local snooker hall has a Twilight Zone pinball. So yeah I'm quite lucky in I have access to some of the greatest pinball machines ever on my doorstep.
Here is a thread we had a little over a year ago on everyone's favorite pinball tables, not that we can't have another one, just thought you'd be interested in some thoughts from before,
Just looked at my post in that thread, got the basement finished, but still no pinball yet. Cyclone, Black Knight, High Speed and White Water are some of my favorites.
