Suikoden is such a good game. I really need to give the 3rd one a run sometime.

Good luck. Battle system killed it for me.
(any random battle felt like they took 20 minutes to complete).

But I LOVED the first two and 5.

Yeah, I'm liking it. I missed it back in the day, but a few of my friends raved about it. I downloaded it to play on my PS3/PSP, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm most of the way through I think (have about 80 "stars"), and it is great.

Oh yeah? I hear 4 is the black sheep, but 3 and 5 are pretty good. I haven't seen complaints about the battle system, what changes did they make since the first two?

From what I remember, the 6 man party has been seperated into 3, 2-man squads. I never really got into 3, despite loving 1,2 and 5. The cast of 3 could never hold my interest for too long.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Yeah I hear 4 is the worst, but I couldn't get into 3 at all. I honestly can't remember much since it's been so long, other than I just simply didn't like the battle system at all and the battles always felt like they took forever to complete. It was also one of those battle systems where the camera angle changes like 50 times per battle and got pretty annoying. 5's system was straight up Suikoden 1-2 style stuff, quick and fun battles so I loved it (not to mention 5 had a lot of connections/characters with 2).

Some people argue 3 has the best story and I've got a friend that loves it, so I still say give it a shot. I wanted to like it but the gameplay just didn't do it for me.

Have you met Looker yet? He's by far the coolest character in the series.

He's the government agent guy who looks for sketchy adults right? Yeah he's pretty cool. I'm on my way to the 2nd gym right now.

I just beat Skies of Arcadia and am thinking about on moving to Grandia 2 or Dragon Quest 8, but I'm gona wait until Monday to see if Final Fantasy 3 (VI) is released on the VC since I never played/beat that one.
