So I think I might have bumped into a rare Xbox game...

Hi all,

Since I've been scouring the internet for quite a while now, I was hoping someone on this forum could help me with the following:

I own an official PAL copy of the Xbox game Room Zoom: Race for Impact. Not so special, or at least Americans might think, be it not this game isn't on a single PAL Xbox list I've checked. It doesn't pop up anywhere on eBay either, all I could find was a stock photo of the PAL version on Amazon or some other online shop. All this tells me the game was probably bound for Europe, but never actually made it here save for a few copies, which would obviously make it rare, though I can't really take a guess as to how rare it might be.

I even gave the UK (Manchester) based developers of the game a ring, and they weren't able to give me any information on it. The guy I eventually talked to was involved with the game and knew it had an NTSC release (the NTSC-U version is worth about $5), but didn't know if there might have been some copies produced of the PAL version. He did mention I might have a "very rare beast on my hands".

I know the game's not a fake because if it would be, it'd be the best fake you could ever imagine (it has the quality seal, perfect looking factory printing on case, booklet and disc, can't remember if the manual has any other European languages in there tho, I should check that when I get back home next weekend). And let's face it here: Room Zoom isn't exactly a game of such high quality standards that you'd even want to make a fake of it.

So does anyone else have any intel on this one? Is it rare as chicken teeth or is this all a horrible misunderstanding?

According to Wikipedia (heh), this game has a regular PAL release for Xbox. Even if the wiki is wrong, I can't see many collector's dumping their wallet over a copy of it.

Very strange. I've just spotted 2 copies on eBay UK (both from the same seller). So apparently a few copies are popping up nowadays, I've heard rumours of it having sold for $250 BIN.
