What's your favorite Tetris?
Re: What's your favorite Tetris?
My favorite Tetris is probably a PC version I had as a kid. I can't recall which version it is though ^_^;
Re: What's your favorite Tetris?
Tetris on the TI-83 Plus graphing calculator!
No, really - THAT was what kept me sane through all those ridiculously hard algebra and geometry classes in middle school!
*cough*
As for OFFICIAL versions...
I like the NES version (since it was one of the first video games I ever played), Super Tetris 3 for Super Famicom (because of the Magicaliss and Sparkliss modes) and Tetris DS for its all-around awesomeness.
Also, Card Captor Sakura Tetris: Eternal Heart. This one's a really good one, though not a lot of people seem to have heard of it. It's Japanese-only for PS1, based on the Card Captor Sakura anime. It plays like a normal Tetris game, only you also have to get rid of a set number of colored gems along with the lines. Depending on what stage you're playing, there are different effects that mess you up or screw around with the gems you're trying to eliminate (gems randomly appearing/disappearing, stacks of blocks piling up, the entire playing field becoming reversed, etc.) The stages get harder as you advance, and you're also timed - in Hard mode you sometimes end up having to complete a stage in less than 30 seconds, with all sorts of crazy things happening to your pieces and the playing field!

I have the NES Nintendo branded version. Would love to find the Tengen NES version.
Is the music different? I read somewhere it also supports two player.

Re: What's your favorite Tetris?
My favorite Tetris right now is Tetris DX. But, I just found out about Tetris the Grand Master (TGM). It is Tetris that is geared toward high speed play. This article about the gmae is interesting: http://bsixcentdouze.free.fr/tc/tgm-en/tgm.html
I haven't played TGM yet, but I plan to try it soon.

I like the classic arcade machine

Re: What's your favorite Tetris?
My favorite version of Tetris is:
Tetris for NES, (regular, not Tengen)
And I'll tell you why:
I like a sense of accomplishment when I beat a level or get a high score. And you know what, random crap flying across the screen does that for me.
Yeah, I won; ooh! look at the dragons!
also like hearing Nutcracker music and the different colors schemes each level.
I also like New Tetris for N64 (was addicted to that for an entire week)
and
original Gameboy Tetris (came with my Gameboy, 'nuf said(
But I like most versions of the game.
