Visting Philadelphia this weekend, any Philly natives here?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Visting Philadelphia this weekend, any Philly natives here?

Post by Evildeadmanwalking77 »

My wife & I are taking a weekend visit to Philadelphia this weekend and she's a little concerned with the bad rep for the violence & crime in Philadelphia so if there are any locals from this area on here, can you recommend where to go that's safe and not to go? I've tried to reassure her it's no different from any other city and you just have to know where you can/should go & shouldn't go.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

I asked a similar question some years ago. Apparently you shouldn't go too much South. I was mostly in the centre and there were no problems whatsoever!

The more knowledgeable people will chime in soon I'm sure.

I liked the cheesesteaks I had as well.

I never went, but as you said, no other cities are different, there are some areas that are good and there are some you pretty much avoid it at all cost, I mean yes there are gangs there, but then again what isn't nowadays? Have a good time though.
