How quiet is your Saturn?

Post by Doctor Fugue »

I got a used JP Saturn, and it is almost totally quiet when playing games. Is there no fan or is mine broken? I can't remember how my original one sounded from many years ago. Thanks!

I don't think the Saturn has a fan. The CD drive makes a bit of noise when the disc is loading but that's about it. My original Saturn was satiny smooth and quiet. When the cart slot went bad and I had a new motherboard and CD drive put in the new one was a lot louder but it still works okay.

It's pretty quiet with slight noises when it reads the CD's.

I can't hear mine, especially compared to my Dreamcast. It's also quieter than my Wii.... so I'm guessing its pretty quiet.

Thanks guys! I was a little worried at first because I thought it would overheat.

Yea saturn has no fan so you really cant hear it running.. just be sure not to keep in a very boxed in area .... it will get really hot if it has no where to breath... i have my saturn and 3do on lap top cooling pads just in case..

The 360 needs more than a pad, it needs to be sitting in a cooler of ice.
