I read through this entire thread hoping there would be something I could comment on at the very least, but, unfortunately, I really don't have anything to say at this point.

Hello RyaNtheSlayA, why do you have nothing to say?

Did you know that "Ryu" means "dragon" in Japanese (although the kanji used in the first SF means "hump"... :? )? It gives a bit more meaning to his dragon punch (shoryuken).

Yeah, it is pronounced "ree yuu". Specifically, it sounds more like "lee-U"

Doesn't it to translate to 'rising dragon fist'? I know Ken is fist. Thus Kenshiro in Fist of the North Star as well.

I'm good a faking it.

I haven't taken any electronics courses or anything. I'm really observant and I pick up little bits and pieces from everywhere. So if something looks a little burnt, or in the case of your SCD where I could see that the capacitors barfed their electrolyte and I know that Game Gears and other items from that era had lots of bad capacitors, I can add those bits of information together and sometimes fix stuff. :)

I got nothing on the people who actually know how to make s-video circuits for consoles. But give me some instructions to follow and I can do it or I might have some ideas to add to the mixture. I'm no circuit bender or anything, but maybe a professional tinker.

me too. I gather that's the "wrong" way to say it... but I can't really shake it.
I say it "Rye You" too, though the game tells you how to say it. "Sho Ree You Ken".

I say "Gray Dius" myself, but apparently "Grah Dius" is correct.
I've at least gotten Ryu right, but I'm also lost on Gradius.

Anybody else unwilling to pronounce Zangief's name properly? I've always said it "Zane geef".

Heh, you'd probably have a field day with me. I have really weird pain tolerance that's all over the map.
