After hearing the podcast about getting the know the RB moderator staff, I thought it would be a great idea to have a thread where we could ask questions to different members of the forum and get to know one another better. Post something that no one here knows about you or ask a question you want to know of another member.
@noiseredux What attracts you to the Gameboy so much and did you like it when it was first released or was it something you picked up later?
EDIT: Thought I put this in off topic.

Re: Getting to know you!
nostalgia plays a big part. I got mine for Christmas 1989 and rather quickly built a nice little collection of classics -- Super Mario Land, Motocross Maniacs, Castlevania Adventure, Fall Of The Foot Clan, etc. But I think a big reason for my connection to it is this: my parents were divorced and I went back and forth to each house. At my mom's house I had a NES and TurboGrafx. At my dad's I had SMS, Genesis, Sega CD... but I ALWAYS had my Game Boy with me at both houses. So I guess in a sense I developed a deeper attachment to those games. They're comforting to me.emwearz wrote: @noiseredux What attracts you to the Gameboy so much and did you like it when it was first released or was it something you picked up later?

@Flake
What fighters do you prefer; SNK or Capcom fighters?

Re: Getting to know you!
mostly just discovering new genres and publishers/designers that I was unfamiliar with before. Over the past year or two I've just read about so many interesting games and been like "damn I wish I could play that but I don't have a PS_ anymore." Plus, more consoles = more shmups.swiftzx wrote:@Noiseredux

I'd like a PS3 EVENTUALLY. But I'm not in a rush. I've got a ton of great games to get through now anyway.

I have a question for lisalover actually, if you don't mind...
I'm sorry to bug you about it, because I know you've been asked before, but it was a long time ago, in an unrelated topic, and I simply don't remember the answer, so here it is.
Who exactly is lisa?

@JT- where do you find so much info on indie games? I found subscribing to "Indie sites" provided me with less relevant information than say, Joystiq, but you always manage to pull out things the rest of us never even heard of.

Re: Getting to know you!
I would probably say Capcom as they have more series I like than SNK. With SNK some of the older franchises like the original Fatal Fury or Samurai Shodown do nothing for me. The only Capcom franchise I do not care for is Dark Stalkers.swiftzx wrote:@Flake

But to be honest, the difference between my love for each is so small it might as not even exist.
@ Emwearz - how hard is it being a gamer in Aussie land?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
