VideoGamePriceCharts.com Data More Accurate

Post by jjgames »

In the past people have discussed with me about the price data for VideoGamePriceCharts.com (the source for those racketboy articles about the most valuable N64 and SNES games). I thought people would like to know that we now have eBay sales in the price data.

Any video game listed with a UPC will go into our pricing database to help determine the price for a game. That should help make it a lot more accurate. Thanks for your support of the site so far, hopefully this will make it even more useful for all you video game collectors. And it will help those "valuable games" articles to be even better too.

I still think the prices are very inaccurate...you show me where you can get a complete copy of NiGHTS in good condition for 23 bucks...you can't.

Hey jj, I've found your site really helpful and now is one of my first options to find out prices for games along with ebay completed listings and other resources. Have you considered adding your site to the search engines you can add on firefox's search bar? It could be a little useful, keep up the good work.

Half, Ebay, amazon, and the general marketplace are sometimes(usually) out of sync. So it would be hard to actually track prices anyway.

That's why I don't like the website much...I prefer thigns complete...but if I cant get it complete ill settle for just the game.

It's a good website if you're looking for a somewhat general cost of a certain game, but I still feel like it could use more work. That's just my opinion though.

Thank you for the feedback. We would love to have the prices for complete games too, but it is hard to separate the prices many times because people list the items differently. We are trying to work on some ways around this so we can provide the "average" price and the "brand new" price or "complete" price.

Let me know if people have any more constructive criticism. We love to hear it so we can make the site better.

What exactly do you mean? If you have a link to an item like that it would help so I can see what you are referring to.

Regarding completeness, I think you can take just about any game, and add or subtract %20 of the price to determine the complete or disc-only price. But then you gatta factor in those rare instances of sealed copies being sold, and prices on many old sealed games can be 10x as much, and that probably throws off the average price....
