pre-6th gen games that support widescreen?

Post by AppleQueso »

Someone mentioned that a few ps1 games supported widescreen, so I'm wondering just how many older games out there support a widescreen display mode?

Anything from the PS1/Saturn/N64 era and before is fair game here.

I know that several n64 games support it, I'm going to test what I have and post them later.

Maybe we can keep a list in this post for future reference, I'll try and keep it up.

Nintendo 64
Banjo-Tooie
Perfect Dark
Goldeneye
Jet Force Gemini* (Does not support true widescreen. It simply has a letterbox mode)

Racket did a small write up about widescreen on the Saturn, if you are interested.

-I believe the PS1 re-release European only special edition of Wipeout 3, also had widescreen support.

-Virtua Fighter 32X has a 16:9 widescreen mode.

I'm pretty sure Excitebike 64 had a widescreen mode.
