Is a gamegear AV mod possible?

Post by BlackDS »

So, I have 6 dead gamegears, but their only problems are broken, unrepairable screens.
I figured I could make them into little consoles, but the only article I have read about this subject is this: http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chri ... ggrgb.html
So I was wondering if:
1. if there is an NTSC Red/White/Yellow A/V mod
2. if there is a way to mod the later model NTSC gamegears, with the blue intro screen.

Another Idea I had was instead of using the standard game gear buttons, I could mod it to have two genesis ports.

Are either of these two ideas remotely possible?

Yes they can be modded to output to a TV screen:

Not sure about about adding controller ports though, it may be possible although I've never heard of anybody doing it

Now that I actually re-watched that vid I see that he has a control pad port on the bottom

I'm pretty sure that the you tuber that he links in the description is TmEE from Sega16, although I may be wrong
