Let me just say there is nothing more satisfying than destroying an oncoming haduken with an assault rifle.
The extraction error I get is due to a stage file being corrupt, causing the game to crash when it attempts to load that stage.
Dong Dong Never Die!

A word of warning to others, this gave me some sort of virus. My homepage is stuck to http://www.2345.com now, regardless of my attempts to change it. I'm running through some antivirus stuff now to hopefully resolve the issue. I did get the game though.

If that doesn't work for you, try anti-spyware software. "Virus" usually give the impression of something that screws with the PC overall. Spyware would be more likely to mess with your internet.
Re: Dong Dong Never Die!
Huh, that's weird. Sorry about that... I didn't have any issues like that at all. I have that version installed and have (for some reason) played it multiple times. But yeah, it's probably just some stupid spyware thing. The site is legit though. It's actually a good source for a lot of obscure game downloads and other crazy doujin games.
Re: Dong Dong Never Die!
I have now run McAffee antivirus, Comodo Antivirus, Microsoft OneCare, and MalwareBytes. None have successfully eliminated the problem, though malwarebytes did identify dong_dong_never_die/game.exe as a problematic file. I have tried to put it in the recycle bin, but got an "access denied" error. I have tried to delete it within a cmd prompt and I get an "access denied" error. I have tried to strip it of its attributes. Nothing seems to work with this damn thing. Now I have this file that keeps directing me to this chinese website I can't even read and I'm really struggling to find a way to get rid of this thing because I my own computer doesn't register me as the owner of the file. Re: Dong Dong Never Die!
JT, try running CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) in case there's something within the registry causing a problem.
I also use this online anti-virus scanner, Trend Micro's Housecall, as a last resort (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/). I've had success there when other AV's fail..
Hope this helps you out!

Re: Dong Dong Never Die!
I downloaded the version he linked to and haven't found anything wrong with it, I've played it many times now, I've scanned it for viruses/spyware to no avail, and I can easily delete the .exe and all associated files. When I installed it I was given the option to also install a browser of some sort that I declined. Not sure if that could have something to do with it, but could be worth checking into.J T wrote:I have now run McAffee antivirus, Comodo Antivirus, Microsoft OneCare, and MalwareBytes. Re: Dong Dong Never Die!
Thanks. CCleaner didn't do it for me, but it did clean up a bunch of crap in my registry. I used "HiJackThis" to help find the offending registry entry, but could not fix it. I found it using RegEdit and couldn't modify or delete it either, even in Safe Mode or when running as the administrator. I discovered though that the offending program had changed my permissions in the registry so that I didn't have full control over that folder in my registry. I changed it back to full control and modified the registry entry to no longer go to 2345.com and to instead go to google.com, my usual homepage.Rurouni_Fencer wrote:JT, try running CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) in case there's something within the registry causing a problem.

God, what a nightmare. I'm glad I figured it out. It was probably a good thing in the long run though because I had gotten a little lax about my computer security. Through the process of trying everything-under-the-sun to fix this thing, I have added multiple antivirus programs, malware protections, and firewalls to keep my computer more secure in the future. I've also cleaned out a lot of crap I didn't know was there. I FINALLY FEEL CLEAN!

Oh, I also played the game for a little bit before deleting everything associated with it to get rid of my malware problems. It was funny and campy. It plays better than most amateur fighting games, but ultimately it wasn't anything special gameplay-wise. It is kind of fun to play, but it coasts on its absurd character animations mostly.
