Yeah the status feed on Facebook is going crazy as well. All of the people I know are in the Kanto region and alright. My old roommate had this to say:
Odaiba caught on fire, tons of broken glass, no gas, and a lot of cars are now parked in the ocean. The worst thing by far is that the trains stopped running. It takes an hour to hail a taxi to get onto jammed streets. The whole city is on foot, it's like a zombie/Armageddon movie. Not lookin forward to the 2 hour walk.

I just heard about this.

I hope everybody's friends and family (and everyone else for that matter!) are safe.

I wish everyone well. Coworker has family in the country and says land lines are still down, cellular services are overloaded.

Wow. This is horrible. I feel so sad for everyone in Japan. It's painful to watch the news and see so much death and destruction going on. I was crying when I first heard about this. I can't imagine what they are going through right now.

Is there anything we can do to help? Dunno what I could do except send money. If there is a good place to send money or some other way we can help the people in Japan, please post here.

Apparently the Red Cross is taking donations, but unfortunately they're a for-profit organization.

Prayers and thoughts go to all those affected and anyone on the forums that has family and friends out there.
