Why would they make DLC if they couldn't charge for it?

To support the fans that bought their product as incentive to keep playing it and buy their future products. Lots of games have free DLC.

Yeah but shouldn't the developer have the option?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Well yeah of course, some DLC is substantial and may have taken a lot of time to develop, like the Fallout 3 and Oblivion Shivering Isles expansions. Other times, like with palette swaps or little bits of content, it's nice to be thrown a bone once in awhile for buying a $60 game instead of being asked to pay $5 more.

I wish "lock and key" style DLC could be banned.

I shouldn't have to pay for extra content that's already on the disc.

"We can't charge for DLC, so lets make a quality game that is 100% complete."

or

"Since we can charge for DLC, lets put some of the game on a DVD and charge the customers even more to buy the rest of the game via DLC. Not only do we make more money this way, but we can kill off the used game market when we take the DLC part of the game off the servers."

I don't even like free DLC, because it is gone for good when it's pulled from the servers a few years later. It needs to be free and easily backed up to the internet for anyone who needs it in the future.

Game companies are slowly killing off the used game market, because we are letting them get away with it. Today's games are overpriced and short lived.

If someone makes this work, I'll buy it.

THISTHISTHIS x INFINITY. I have been awaiting portable Gamecube emulation for many, many years, and I would buy an NGP the moment a Gamecube emulator became available. Portable Tales of Symphonia FTW.

Some other games I would want would be Fat Princess 2, Biomotor Unitron 3, Persona 4 Portable [Although, this is a rumored 3DS release], Vales of Vesperia Portable [It's about damn time], and Star Ocean: Third Somethingorother.

I think lightgun games and rail shooters would play like a dream on the NGP's rear touchpad; I can't wait to see how developers use it!

To be affordable from day 1 (less than USD $300), with solid games at the launch (3DS' launch is becoming a joke), a better user interface for your home PC syncing with NGP.

I'll probably buy one when a slim model is released; the current one is bigger than I can fit in my pocket.
