Good call with Gradius II. Here's another shoot 'em up well-worth playing:

43. Coryoon: Child of Dragon (import HuCard)

[edit]

Looking forward to see how this list is rounded out...

Does anybody think New Zealand Story belongs on this list? This is on my list of PCE games to buy, but I haven't played it myself yet.

I like it. It's a pretty good version. I've just played the arcade, SMS and PC Engine version. The PCE version holds up pretty well and is fun (and tough!). I haven't tried the Genesis version.

It isn't an expensive game, so you might as well pick it up sometime. :)

Put anything on the list that you like. This isn't necessarily a top 100 BEST games list. It's just a random list of 100 games that people here like (I don't expect that Deep Blue doesn't make it, but who knows?).

48. After Burner II (import HuCard)

It's actually BETTER than the Genesis/MD version! The scaling is better, frame-rate seems smoother, it's more colourful, and it seems to control better. Only the bonus canyon stage looks worse, and perhaps the sound isn't quite as good. Every other aspect is better on the PC Engine.
