No$gba and NDS ROMs questions

So I've been planning on getting a flashcard for my DS for my birthday (April) and I've been looking for good places to download NDS roms. I've downloaded a few games to test on No$gba and start stockpiling working roms for when I get an Acekard. So far, I have had no success. I've downloaded Pokemon Diamond, extracted it to a .nds file with WinRAR, and tried to play it on No$gba. All I get is a message saying "The save data could not be accessed, please turn off the power and reinsert the DS card." Pokemon Emerald (GBA), on the other hand, works perfectly fine. However, I'm not planning on emulating GBA games on my DS. I'm wondering if:
1. I'm downloading bad roms
2. No$gba isn't working
FYI, I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium.
Also, if anyone knows of any good places to download DS ROMs that would be appreciated.

It might be the emulator that is causing the problem. But you could try another DS rom and see if you get the same problem. As far as getting ROMs Emuparadise has quite a few and its much easier to search and find games than any other site I know. Rom-Freaks.net is good, but all the DS ROMs are listed in order of release date, which is pretty annoying IMO.

You need to set the save type for Pokemon Diamond to Flash 512kb in No$GBA. If you haven't already, make sure you also get a copy of the DS BIOS.

No, but that just happens to be the type for Diamond in particular. Pokemon games tend to have larger save sizes, and No$GBA is defaulting to something smaller.

Don't forget the NDS BIOS, there are lot of games that won't function correctly in the emulator without it. You won't need it for your flashcart of course, just the emulator.

A good alternative would be to use the latest version of the DeSmuME emulator, or the latest revision found at this site: http://www.emucr.com/
