What do you think of Opera?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

1. Nerd = You automatically knew he was talking about the browser
2. Not Nerd = You thought he meant music

I fell into category 1

Na I knew the confusion could happen so I did the clever thing and decided to read the first post before I started to write my first post :P

I think Opera deserves a lot more credit than it gets; from what I have seen of it, it is a fast, capable, good-looking browser. I personally use Chrome, because I am a total Google fanboy, but it is also very fast and lightweight.

I think it gets the credit it deserves its a browser that not many people use.
You said it yourself despite it being fast and light you still chose Chrome over Opera.

I don't support Skynet 8)

Still, I love IE, it works well enough for me. Those that argue about security, spyware and crap like that often go to shady sites to begin with, so it a question of usage rather than functionality. Firefox is built with the intention that you'll f-up, but if you use your computer sensibly, the IE will work just fine.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

I've used Firefox since it came out but have been using Chrome since August. I never used anything else except for IE but that's pure crap.

Hard to believe but there was a time when IE was the browser of choice. Back in the IE4 & 5 days, it was better than Netscape.

My browser of choice is Chrome, followed by Firefox.

I guess sometimes news can be misleading
I always thought Opera was the kind of browser you would call a "hidden gem"
where it was always the best but no one uses it, because it never built hype

I tried to use it before, but I found it buggy, I thought I was doing something wrong
I just stopped using it,
Now I hear from people that it was never that good in the first place.

I am currently using 11.01 and still with issues(youtube player buttons don't work)
but none the less the browser seems fast and reliable

Firefox is my browser of choice right now, but it seems a bit heavy, not sure why, maybe with the new release 4 it will be great.

but it just seems that all browsers today are just as good and you can't simply go wrong, except that Firefox shines with extensions I guess.

I base my choice of browser based on ram usage and how long it takes to boot.
And to me Opera does well in both areas. If it werent for the even lighter browser k-meleon i would be using that.

I listen to a lot of music, and i maean a true fuckton.
Much of my listening is dont so that I may find a song (or in this case a group of songs) that can really dig out my soul.
Now i have to put out the disclaimer that i don't love all opera, and also that I cant present you with the names of my favorite operetic performances. However, there are just some that are, for lack of a better term, complete. You can tell that the composer carefully wrote every little bit so that it may invoke the correct response at the appropriate time.
That expert writing coupled with my love for classical composition (which I know much more about) puts opera in a world of its own for me.
Why did Kevin Flynn blare Journey so loud in his arcade? Was he trying to hear it from the grid?
