Way to test to see if the snes still works with out having a game? I want to sell it but i want to make sure it works first.

Not sure if that's possible. You could always pick up a cheap cart locally just to test it first. I'm sure you could snag a copy of Super Mario World for less than $5.

if i remember correctly, when you switch on a snes with no cart all you get is a blank screen

I went to 4 different pawn shops and 1 good will, and the only thing I found for SNES was nhl 96. It was 10 bucks so I passed on it. Looks like im going to have to buy a game online.

just look for non-tecmo sports games. You should be able to get something for ~$3 shipped.

yeah, there's no real way to test. Usually a system will make the screen "jump" a little when kicked on properly.
