I'm wondering which Bleach fighting is the best, if there's any of you that know a bit about them. I'm not very into Bleach (stopped following it years ago), but I like 2D anime fighters a lot and haven't played one in awhile.
There seems to be a pile of them, and I'm curious as to which ones are the best. I found that Treasure developed some for the Wii and the DS, which interested me quite a bit. There are also some ones for GC/PS2, and the Heat the Soul series for the PSP. There are 7 of these Heat the Soul games for some reason. I'm mainly interested in the Treasure ones (Dark Souls and Shattered Blade) and the PSP Heat the Soul ones, but I'm not sure which of the 7 to get. I guess just go with the most recent one? Thoughts/suggestions?
Bleach Fighting Games
Re: Bleach Fighting Games
The two Treasure ones on the DS are amazing. It's got a simple but deep combat system and there's a standardized set of inputs for all the special moves, so you don't have to remember that his guy is a charge character while this one uses shoto inputs.

Re: Bleach Fighting Games
The Gamecube and Wii ones are mediocre to passable. The combat system in Shattered blade is downright awkward and silly (watch any youtube video to see it). Versus Crusade on the other hand, is too fast to be enjoyable. It tries hard to be Budokai Tenkaichi, but fails because bouts tend to end before you even have a chance to enjoy the fights. Also, none of the GC and Wii games have decent representations of transformations/bankais/hollow masks. It's either they're done through FMV specials, or under a very short timer.
I haven't had a chance to play the PS2 ones (blade battlers? I think they're more like Smash Bros brawlers)
IMO the best Bleach fighters are the ones on the DS and the PSP. The DS ones had better/deeper gameplay, but the PSP ones had better graphics and mechanics that are more in line with what you see on the shows (e.g. transformations on the DS are temporary and last only until the reiatsu bar is emptied, while the PSP transformations are permanent except for the obviously limited ones, such as Ichigo's vizard form).
The strengths and weaknesses of the DS and PSP titles are different and which one is better would depend on your preference (I think it's right up there with the Budokai VS Budokai Tenkaichi thing, where one is a better fighting game while the other is a better simulation of the anime, but both are fun.)

Skip Shattered Blade for Wii completely, as my bro was soon to regard it buying at full retail price when it came out. I played it, and this game was whacked.
I did have Blades of Fate and the combat was much better, but IMO, the DS isn't the right system to have a serious fighting game, especially with the dual screen becoming a distraction at times.
