GameStop sucks. No one goes there anyway.

Honestly, I'm surprised this didn't happen earlier.

The 3DS is coming out, so this was inevitable. I'll make a stop at my local GS while I'm back home.

screw gamestop. I actually went on a little used game buying spree there a few months back when they had some good used sales. I got some ps2 and DS games real cheap (including a mint copy of kingdom hearts II limited edition with the cards still inside! wtf?) that were in good condition. I did have to go to different stores to get good copies of some games. SO many of them had stickers on the artwork. The guy at the main store i went to talked me into getting one of their stupid cards last month since i had bought so much. A week later i go in to look for the old sly cooper games, which i had seem there before and notice a lot of stuff is missing.
Turns out they threw out all cases and manuals for ps2 game under 10 bucks and slapped them in cardboard sleeves! Its something all the stores will be doing now. I was pissed, i had just blown money on a reward card that was now almost worthless. They also are tossing out a lot of DS cases as well it seems. To their slight credit the one employee that sold me the reward card does seem like a cool guy. He was pretty pissed at the change and said the new manager is the one that did it while he was on vacation.
Screw gamestop. What a garbage store. I should have known better than getting the rewards card, but a few nice little finds blinded me. Honestly though none of their GBA games are worth getting anyway. Theyre all just sitting in glass cases without any manual/case, ect. Plus they have stickers all over the cart and artwork. No serious collector would want that crap.
Im not really sure what im going to do with the card now. I NEVER trade games in, or buy used current gen games. Most of their PSP games are in crappy condition, and with the PS2/DS games getting all the packaiging and stuff tossed that really only leaves some of the higher priced ps2 games and a handfull of game cube games. Im sure those will be gone soon too though

I'm really happy about the direction of this thread. If there's one thing Racketboy needs, it's a dedicated thread where we talk about how bad Gamestop is.

If we didn't have gamestop around, I wonder who we would be complaining about? Probably Sony would be next in line.

I know, right? About time we classed this forum up with some good 'ol fashion Gamestop hate. Why we've never done that around there here parts' a mystery to me, ol buddy.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

That's what I was thinking. I thought when they started to put all the gba games in a cardboard box on the counter it only had about 2 weeks left.GSZX1337 wrote:Honestly, I'm surprised this didn't happen earlier.

You know I actually think the PS2 will go next just because the sheer amount of space the generic cases and sleeves take up. At least at my local stores, the GameCube games are on a small rack and almost all of them are in their original cases while the ps2 games take up 35% of the room in the store. And I always see the GameCube games getting sold. I haven't seen too many people shuffling through those sleeves.
