Re: Recommended podcasts!
Retronauts is officially back, now re-structured as a call-in show (at least for the time being). So that's awesome for fans. I've become a huuuuge fan of the show over the past 6 months or so.
Also, Active Time Babble is still chugging along... basically JParish and Kat Bailey talk RPG's. You could certainly do worse!

Re: Recommended podcasts!
Retronauts is cool, I like what they did for the Zelda anniversary. That was a fun episode
I also listened to one of the old racketboy podcasts at the too many games event event where dsheinem was interviewing a guy who held a Mortal Kombat record and a chiptunes artist known as Chipocrite. It was pretty cool and informative
I'm a bit podcast happy right now. It's a wonderful way to make my days at work less boring and make the time go faster. My faves are definitely Doug loves movies for just plain hilarity and the nerdist podcast for having fantastic guests, while also maintaining an excellent mix of comedy and interesting information. When I want more than just comedy I switch from Doug loves movies to the Nerdist podcast. Chris Hardwick loves to talk about the entertainment business with his guests, particularly comedy and it usually leads to some interesting stories and insights
He is a little too nerdy though, almost coming off as a complete nerd cliche or stereotype at times. I suppose that is to be expected since it is the NERDIST podcast

the Racketcast is amazing, if not sporadic.
but yeah the newly revived Retronauts is interesting. BTW, they did a 2nd Zelda episode this past week. They stretched that one into two episodes. I think they're recording a brand new (non-Zelda) episode tomorrow if I heard right.

Re: Recommended podcasts!
I just got an iPod and have only listened to three other podcasts than the RB one:
Stuff You Missed in History Class
Stuff You Should Know
and
Stuff to Blow Your Mind
Both are by howstuffworks.com

yeah they're gonna stick with weekly or bi-weekly. After the PAX episode they're planning to try to make it a livestream so call-ins can be a bit more natural.eSPy wrote:heck yea! and they just put out a Pokemon episode. happy to see this format being more than just a once a year thing.noiseredux wrote:Retronauts is officially back, now re-structured as a call-in show (at least for the time being). I didn't love the Pokemon episode. But I don't love Pokemon. Though in reality it felt way more like an Active Time Babble episode anyway (JP and Kat arguing about an RPG

Re: Recommended podcasts!
is the CAGcast any good?
also, did everyone hear the news that Kat Bailey has left Active Time Babble? Sucks. She was perfect for that show.

Re: Recommended podcasts!
It is the only podcast that I listen to regularly and actually look forward to each week. It is also very different than what I do, as it is almost entirely banter about new releases and the life happenings of the hosts. However, it is structured, entertaining, often funny, and well produced. It is a bit of an acquired taste, perhaps, but it is easily my favorite game-related podcast.noiseredux wrote:is the CAGcast any good?
