softmodded Wii needs repair

Post by D.D.D. »

So yeah my launch Wii got the GPU/video f'd up recently, y'know, where there are random artifacts on the screen.
I softmodded it and I wanted to know if anyone has sent in a softmodded Wii for repair to Nintendo and had them actually repair it versus them just sending it back because it's been modded.

I'm not sure what they would do, but you could uninstall HBC first so that you wont get stung with postage charges if the do return it.

I cant imagine that Nintendo will to happy to see the HBC on there

I had the same thing happen with my launch Wii. Also was softmodded, but it was still under warranty when I sent it in.

I just removed all traces of the softmod (HBC mostly) and I didn't have any problems. I don't think they have enough time to poke around on every console, so just remove the obvious things and you should be fine.

I think that's what I'll have to try and hope it goes through. If it gets caught then, I might as well just buy a new one.
