Eww... I hated it.
Alien - Masterpiece.
Aliens - I love it.
Aliens 3 - I honestly didn't hate it...
Resurrection - AvP tier garbage, one of the hardest to finish movies I've seen in a long time. The acting, the action, the characters, the story, oh man... everything was horrendous. It wasn't humorously bad, it was just straight up terrible.

I pretty much feel the same way. Alien 3 was a letdown for me, but Resurrection has prompted me to take a good look at it again.Ryvius wrote:AppleQueso wrote:Got around to watching Alien Resurrection...

Also, Resurrection had a lot of AWESOME actors in it that were underutilized to say the least. Plus some of those lines were terrible... "Who do I have to fuck to get off this boat?"... what the fuck.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Yeah, really my only problem with Aliens 3 was... well Ripley, at that point Ripley wasn't really Ripley. And I hated what they basically did to Aliens in the beginning there, I can't stand when sequels pull that kind of crap. I read that originally Michael Beihn's character Hicks was supposed to be the lead and that probably would have been cool and easier to accept. That said I thought Weaver gave a good performance, and it was still alright. Pretty weird though.AppleQueso wrote:I pretty much feel the same way. Resurrection on the other hand... just pure garbage I won't care to remember. I thought the younger chick had some of the worst acting I've ever seen, oh man she was bad. When you thought she was "gone" at that one moment I was so excited... and then nope, she comes back! And how about that alien redesign? Wow that was more comical than anything to me, hilariously stupid...
I loved when Ripley decided to BURN her clone even though she could have shot her instantly ending it that way. But I guess she had to suffer!

You mean Winona Ryder? I loved her far too much in Beetlejuice to call her a bad actress...Ryvius wrote: Resurrection on the other hand... just pure garbage I won't care to remember. Watched Attack of the Killer Shrews the other night, via Mystery Science Theater 3000. The movie started off bad, but not wholly in-sufferable, until half an hour in when you saw the dogs running around in poorly designed shrew costumes (and barking! Hello! Editing department! Couldn't you have cut that part out?). That, and all the characters were drinking far too much. Personally, I'd like to be sober in order to formulate a plot to get away from those poorly designed creatures, rather than drinking myself into a stupor. But maybe that's just me. Favorite line: "Argh! There's a muppet under the stairs!"

I got that movie on one of those giant horror movie packs a while ago and my friend and I had a blast watching it and laughing our asses off at the the barking dogs with a bunch of torn cloth thrown on them being presented as giant shrews.Michi wrote:Watched Attack of the Killer Shrews the other night, via Mystery Science Theater 3000. Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

I just got Netflix and this was streaming, so I watched em. I have to say, Superman/Shazam was definetly the better of the two, lol.
In all seriousness, this was great. It was like watching 4 episodes of a DC Comics Presents Animated, if such a thing existed. They were about 20 minutes a piece, just like an episode of a TV cartoon. I enjoyed 3 out of the 4 shorts. Great animation, great action, and good voice-acting.
The first was the action-packed Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam. Great battle cartoon.
The second was a very stylized Spectre short. Gruesome death scenes, and a gritty animation style complete with cigarette burns in the film.
The third was a Green Arrow short where he protected a little girl from Merlyn, Count Vertigo, and a bunch of hired thugs. Enjoyable again.
And finally, the fourth was a Jonah Hex short. Western Jonah Hex, not future Jonah Hex. I've never been a big fan of westerns, so for me it was just meh. Nice ending, though.
Krull was cheesy as heck. Some cool imagery, and that's about it.

Due Date. They really need to stop making comedies that aren't funny.
